  1. Help increase your own knowledge on global issues

We provide an ever-growing library of facts, statistics, information, reviews, tips, humour, quotations and questions on our website. This comprehensive resource is designed to help you increase your own knowledge about the important issues affecting the future of our planet – especially poverty, environment and health.

Most of these have been provided, edited and in some cases translated by our expanding team of contributors and editors.  Dip into The Wisdom Trust every day, learn something new, and then test your knowledge with a few quiz questions.

You’ll be awarded special Wisdom Trust Credits (known as FCs or Fundraising Credits) for everything you do and these will allocate extra funds to your chosen cause.  Or become one of our accredited editors, translators or moderators and earn even more Credits to benefit your favourite causes.

  1.   Support your favourite charities and other good causes, all over the world

We set aside the majority of our own income for donations to support the vital work, activities and campaigns of other charities, good causes and not-for-profit initiatives, all over the world.

i. Donations

Our donations process is simple.  Once registered, a member can vote for their two favourite causes at least once every day.  Then, at the end of each three-month donations window, we simply allocate our donations fund for that quarter in direct ratio to the percentage of votes cast for each organisation.

This means that each and every charity or good cause who receives even just one vote during any quarterly donations window will be allocated something from our donations fund.

For example, a cause which receives 2.3% of the votes that quarter will receive 2.3% of the associated donations fund for that period.  Or a cause which receives 0.035% of the votes will receive 0.035% of that quarter’s donations fund.

Members can also add to the funds set aside for their favourite cause by earning special Wisdom Trust Credits (also known as FCs or Fundraising Credits). Credits are awarded to members every day when they use the website; to learn by using our education programs, or to share their own wisdom, knowledge and questions with others, search the internet or shop online.  For every 10 Credits earned in a day, you’ll be awarded another vote.  But every Credit gained has some small benefit for your favourite cause.

ii. Friends & family

We’ll also add additional Credits to your account – also for the benefit of your own favourite cause –  when your friends, family and colleagues join us, earn Credits of their own and shop online.  Therefore, the more people you introduce to The Wisdom Trust, the more funding you could help to redirect to help support the work of your favourite charity or good cause.  It’s just one of the small ways we like to show our gratitude to you, for helping us to spread the word.

iii. Get involved

If you are a charity, good cause, school or any other not for profit organisation or project, anywhere in the world, why not register as one of our causes then promote The Wisdom Trust to your staff and supporters.  They will be able to register themselves, completely free of charge, and help raise funds for you by voting for you every time they log in.

We’ll also promote your campaigns, events and activities on our website to familiarise all our members and others with what you do.

d) how to invite your friends, family and colleagues to join The Wisdom Trust.

  1. Expand your company, school or college’s outreach within your community.

There must be dozens of charities, good causes and other not-for-profit organisations in every community.  We welcome the opportunity to help as many of them as possible by providing extra funding.  We could work with your school, college, university or even your company to reach and and support any charitable organisations in your area. Our community funding for all those other causes would of course be in addition to the funds allocated for your own academic institution, not-for-profit organisation or corporate charitable foundation.

i. Helping all organisations

We want to work with all organisations, including companies and commercial bodies with their own charitable initiatives – even helping to enhance their existing corporate social responsibility activities.  We can assist them in reaching out to support more of the vital work being done by all sorts of charities, good causes and other not-for-profit projects – all doing vital work within their local communities and beyond.

Whether you’re a school, college, charity, good cause, individual fundraiser or even a company or other commercial organisation, we’ll set up a Wisdom Trust Account for your benefit, either to help fund your own charitable activities or to help you reach out to fund the activities of charities and good causes in your community.

ii. Increasing your donations

Once registered with us, you then simply invite your students, staff (maybe even your customers and suppliers too, if you’re a company), plus their families and friends to register on our website – also free of charge – so they can vote for your fund every day if they wish. And this will help increase the share of our donations fund that we set aside especially for your school or organisation every quarter.

But each of your own supporters will be able to nominate and vote for another organisation of their own choosing as well.  In this way we’ll be able to further expand our outreach to support the incredible work of more and more good causes and commercial organisations in communities all over the world.  We’ll also promote the existing corporate social responsibility activities and charitable projects of our commercial partners, via our website and other media projects.

iii. Benefits for schools

Schools, in particular, will benefit in lots of different ways when they register on The Wisdom Trust website.

A) New funding

They’ll open up a new source of funding to help deliver better outcomes for their students; while their students will be able to learn more about poverty, environment and health issues and more, via our online learning programs, at the same time.

B) Education Grant Funds

Students will be to share their own wisdom and knowledge with others and build their own personal Education Grant Fund  to help them when they move on to higher or further education; parents and families will be able to vote for the school and benefit from Wisdom Trust Eco Grants to help them offset the costs of reducing their carbon footprint at home or in the office.

C) Wisdom Trust Credits

In addition, students will be able to earn special Wisdom Trust Credits (also known as FCs or Fundraising Credits) via our online learning programs and aspire to be top of the Hall of Fame for their class.  Students earn certificates of achievement by email when they finish in the top places – daily, weekly or monthly; classes will be able to work together to be the top class in the school and the whole school will be able to take part in the new and exciting League of Wisdom and be crowned champion cause in their section each month.

D) Volunteering opportunities

Students and parents will also be able to participate in a whole range of volunteering roles with The Wisdom Trust and with any of our partner organisations, available via our website.

E) Added support for your own cause

We’re also happy to work with individuals for their own charity fundraising projects.  As long as there is a name for your charity or fundraising project and a webpage or website, we’ll set up a Wisdom Trust Account for your benefit, either to help fund your own charitable activities or to help you reach out to fund the activities of charities and good causes in your community.

ii. Wisdom Trust grants

At The Wisdom Trust we think it’s very important to support the work of charities, good causes and all sorts of other not-for-profit initiatives with regular donations from our fund.  But we also believe it’s important to support individuals too, so they can make small, important changes in their own lives to help make a positive difference as well.

Wisdom Trust Grants are available to all our registered members, and increase in value, little by little, every time they’re awarded a Wisdom Trust Credit through their activity on our website or by shopping online.  There are four types of Grant

A) Eco Grants

Wisdom Trust Eco Grants help members reduce their carbon footprint at home or in the office through energy saving initiatives such as solar panels and wind turbines.  But any project which saves energy or water or reduces waste could qualify to be part-funded by a Wisdom Trust Eco Grant.

B) Education Grants

Wisdom Trust Education Grants help students and young people cover the cost of their higher education – such as course fees at college or university, books and in some cases accommodation expenses too.  Every child, of any age – anywhere in the world – can join us now and start to build their own personal Wisdom Trust Education Grant Fund to help them later on in their lives when they go on to college or university.

C) Social Grants

Wisdom Trust Social Grants help members – especially those with young families, and the elderly (and particularly those on low incomes) – to cover the extra costs of healthier food options such as fresh fruit and vegetables, or to heat their homes in Winter.

D) Charity Grants

Wisdom Trust Charity Grants are quite simply for those people who just want to use their Grant Fund to channel additional funding to their favourite cause.

As we’ve said, your Wisdom Trust Grant Fund grows little by little, every time you’re awarded any of our special Wisdom Trust Credits, and we’ll also adds extra Credits to your account when you shop online via our website  – almost like giving you a small cashback on all your purchases.

But one of the most interesting aspects of The Wisdom Trust ‘community networking’ model is that we’ll also add additional Credits to your accout when your friends, family and colleagues join us, earn Credits of their own and shop online – all adding additional value to the money set aside for your favourite cause, as well as increasing the value of your own Wisdom Trust Grant fund.  What that means, therefore, is the more people you introduce to The Wisdom Trust, the faster your own Wisdom Trust Grant Fund could grow, as a result.  It’s just one of the small ways we like to show our gratitude to you for helping us to spread the word.

  1. Help you find interesting volunteer roles with The Wisdom Trust and other organisations

The Wisdom Trust is organised, run and staffed entirely by volunteers. With this in mind, we are always happy to talk to anyone who would like to help our cause by donating some of their spare time, and offer their own particular skills and experience to assist us in our activities.  Contact us here to discuss opportunities we currently have and how you could get involved.

If you’re a charity in need of skilled volunteers or an individual who’s chosen to donate their expertise to support a good cause global or local, you can register with us. Registering will allow you to create a profile, find the right opportunity for you and save potential opportunities.

We are a truly unique charity.  We’re already reaching out all over the world, supporting the work of hundreds of charities and good causes in more than 32 countries – and we’re still quite young, compared to many of the bigger more established charities.

Although our fundraising support for other charitable causes is important and provides a vital new funding opportunity for large and small charities alike, another of our key aims has always been to connect people with other charities and good causes both in their own community and beyond.  With this in mind, we hope to present an extensive list of volunteer roles with any of our registered charities and good causes that are available for any of our members to apply for.
